Snow Melting and Road Cooling
Similar to residential underfloor heating systems, PEXGOL™ pipes can be used for heating wide areas outside buildings. PEXGOL systems are an excellent solution for preventing the accumulation of snow and ice on sidewalks, as demonstrated by projects that encompassed thousands of square meters of pavements. Water at a temperature of 30°C is run through the pipes under the pavement to melt ice or snow accumulation.
PEXGOL pipes can also be useful for heating driveways to prevent snow and ice build-up so family vehicles have smooth, safe access to the driveway and garage. The same method is used in cold stores, where underfloor PEXGOL™ pipes are used to prevent frost damage to concrete. Another application is piping cold water flow under roads in hot climates to prevent asphalt melting that cause road damages.
